Fred E. Creighton, 45, died last Sunday afternoon at the A. Barton Hepburn hospital as a result of injuries which he suffered in a runaway accident at the New York Central station March 21st. When he tried to stop the horses he was dragged over the ground and jammed between the wagon and a telegraph pole. Several of his ribs were fractured and one of his lungs punctured. Dr. G. C. Madill, who attended him, held out little hope of his recovery.

Mr. Creighton was born in DeKalb, a son of Matthew and Augusta Cleland Creighton. Besides his widow he is survived by two brothers and three sisters; William Creighton of Oakland Beach, R.I.; John Creighton of Kendrew, Mrs. C. W. Borland, Miss Maude Creighton and Mrs. J. H. Dawson all of Watertown.

Fred Creighton, aged 45 years,
416 Grove street, city, lies in the
A. Barton Hepburn hospital with
his condition being considered very
serious as the result of an accident
which occured yesterday afternoon
about 5:15 and on examination
Central railroad yards, Mr. Creigh-
ton was admitted to the hospital
about 515 and an examination
showed he -was suffering from se-
vere internal injuries. Little hope
is entertained for his recovery.
The accident occurred when a
team owned by Mr. McConvile
which Mr. Creighton was driving
ran away. Tha man was at once
removed to the hospital.

Fred E. Creighton, aged 45 years,
expired at the A. Barton Hepburn
hospital in this city yesterday afternoon
at 1:25 following injuries
received when the team he was
driving ran away Thursday afternoon
about 5' O'clock at the New
York Central railroad yard. Mr.
Creigtiton received several fractured
ribs and a punctured lung in the
mishap. He had been confined in
the hospital in a serious condition
since that time.
The deceased was a well known
resident of this city, having been
employed for gome time as teamster
by Arthur J. McConville, local
contractor. The body was removed
to the McLellan undertaking parlors
and funeral arrangements wiJI
be made later.
Begides his wife, he is survived
by two brothers, William, Oakland
Beach, R. I., John, Kendrew;
three sisters, Mrs. C. W. Borland,
Miss Maude Creighton, Mrs. J. H.
Dawson, all of Watertown.

Rites For Fred
Creighton Today
The funeral services for Fred E.
Creighton will be held this afternoon
at the McLellan undertaking
parlors at 2 o'clock. Rev. Herbert
C. Laskey will officiate and the remains
will be placed in the vault
at the Ogdensburg cemetery.

Creighton Funeral
Held Yesterday
Funeral obsequies were conducted
at 2 yesterday afternoon for
Fred E. Creigbton at the McLellan
chapel. The body was placed in
the vault at the Ogdensburg cemetery.
Mr. Creighton died in the Hepburn
hospital of injuries suffered
when a team of horses, owned by
Contractor Arthur F. McConville,
Which he was driving ran away.

CANTON, April 7.—Letters of
administration were issued Friday
to Mrs. Emma Creighton, widow,
in the estate of the late Fred
Creighton of Ogdensburg. Mr.
Creighton died intestate March 24,
1929. The letters were issued hy
Surrogate Ceylon G. Chaney. John
H. Wells of Ogdensburg represented

Husband Killed In March

Mrs. Fred Creighton, Grove
street, whoso husband died last
March as the result of injuries he
suffered in a runaway, was awarded
compensation for the rest of her
life in death court this morning; a
provision of the reward is that it
will be discontinued if she remarries
again. Tho rate is $6.30 a week..
Her 8 year old son will receive
$2.10 a week for ten years. Both
compensations will be paid to the
mother.
Compensation for Maude Creighton,
a sister living in Watertown,
was denied by Referee James P.
Richardson on the grounds that
she was not a dependent, being
over 18 years old.
Attorney John Wells asked lawyers
fees of $250 for tho work done
on tho case. Atlornoy D. H. Cor-
croan has acted as counsel in the
case and Alford Wells as guardian.
The court decided that the court
fees would be duly considered and
a report made later.
Creighton was employed as driver
for Arthur McConvlllo last
March when the Horso he was driving
ran away, fatally injuring him.
The calendar of compensation
court had G5 cases on schedule
the majority of which were closed.
