PENDLETON - Edna Mae Peterson, 82, of Pendleton died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Suttle Care and Retirement in Pendleton. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22 at Olney Cemetery. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at the Pendleton Elks Lodge.
Mrs. Peterson was born Dec. 31, 1927, at her uncle's ranch at Coombs Canyon near Pendleton to Frank Jacob and Anna May (Bashor) Britain. She attended schools in Bend, Albany and finally Pendleton.
She married Frederick (Freddie) M. Peterson in 1947 in Walla Walla. She was a lifelong homemaker.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by daughter Annette P. Skinner of Pendleton; sons Carl F. Peterson and Chris C. Peterson, both of Pendleton; sister Patricia Massie of Hermiston; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Britain; husband Freddie Peterson; brothers Frank, Jack, Charles, Gene and Virgil Britain; and sisters Marie Blakley, Ruth Hoover and Bertha Britain.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Anthony Hospice, Cystic Fibrosis, Round-Up and Happy Canyon Hall of Fame, VFW Ladies' Auxiliary or the Pendleton Elks Eye Clinic.
Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop is in charge of arrangements.
