His military service: Bet. 22 Aug 1862–09 May 1865 Union Allegiance, Company F, 118 Ohio Infantry, Rank: PrivateCompiled Service Record as received from NARA some years ago,found that several of the pages in his record give May 10, 1865, as the date of death and burial. However, the Memorandum from Prisoner of War Records states that he died May 9, 1865, of typhoid fever
